Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training
Application to the Advanced Training is open only to currently enrolled Year 2 students, and graduates of CAPA's Basic Training Program who are eligible to reapply this year.

Each year, CAPA invites 30 applicants who have successfully completed the Basic Training Program to the Advanced Training Program, with the possibility that the size of the class may vary slightly from year to year under special circumstances. There is no limit to the number of applications accepted.
YEAR 1
30 weekly four hour sessions
Theory: Reading Freud
Technique: transcripts of analytic sessions
Continuous Case Conference
At least 30 hours of individual supervision
YEAR 2
30 weekly four hour sessions
Theory: post-Freudian writers
Tech: selected technical problems
Continuous Case Conference
At least 30 hours of individual supervision

All application materials must be submitted before Monday, December 22, 2025 at 9:00AM Eastern (NYC) time.
2026-27 Year 3 Tuition Costs:
$4,770 USD - to be paid to CAPA
$50/session for Supervision (A minimum of 30 supervision sessions per academic year are required, totaling $1,500 USD - to be paid directly to your supervisor.)
Total costs for 2026-27 Year 3 are: $4,770+$1,500 = $6,270 USD
